Writing requires more creativity than can be imagined. Bringing new worlds and people to life, creating characters, and keeping readers interested and involved is no easy feat. Sometimes it can seem like all is lost when writer’s brains simply crash and lose all ability to write at all. This writer’s block is something that all who write have to deal with from time to time. Finding creativity and getting those writing juices flowing is doable and there are many ways that people get back on track. Check out some of these ways that you can find more creativity and break through those bouts of writer’s block.

Get back to basics with your writing. Do you remember when you used to write constantly? Think back and figure out why it was so much easier? Most writers will say that it was much easier because they were writing down everything even if it went nowhere, words were getting written and creativity was flowing. Take some advice from your old self and write down everything. You never know when you might read back over your encounters and find something to go with.

Have fun with writing prompts. Writing prompts are great ways for you to focus your thoughts on something else for a while and come up with a story that correlates along with a given prompt. There are many writing websites out there where you can find writing prompts to inspire you to come up with some fun, interesting, or silly stories that will encourage creativity.

Get out of the house. Venture outside for some time to clear your mind or make your way to a public place where you can people watch and find some ideas and inspiration for characters, story lines, and plots in your writing. You never know what you are going to see outside of your home or office, so get out there and find some reasons to write.

You are a writer, so you know that inspiration is everywhere. You also know that writer’s block is often inevitable. When you are stuck with the writer’s block bug or lost on where to turn for inspiration, there is always a way or three to get what you are looking for so you can be back on your writing track. Not only will these tricks help to encourage creativity and get you out of your slump, but you might find that they are a welcomed break from over thinking and analyzing any issues you might be facing in your writing.
